Former Wimbledon Specialist Cars site, Bushey Road – update

by Wimbledon Town & Dundonald Lib Dems on 7 September, 2020

Planning permission for this site at 32-34 Bushey Road was originally granted in late 2018, for 32 flats. Building work has not yet started and travellers broke into the site most recently in August.

The developer has provided the following update on 7 September:

“As promised I wanted to keep everybody fully up-to-date and informed as to what is going on with our site.

Firstly we do have the MP Stephen Hammond and a member of Parliament coming to the site this week to view all of the waste that the travellers have left behind. This in my attempt to have something a actioned in Parliament about changing the law to protect private landowners from this type of behaviour.

This is not the reason for emailing you this morning, this is purely for your information.

However it does now appears that we should soon be commencing work on the site and I wanted to keep you and all the residents updated best I possibly can.

I am not sure of the best way to inform everybody of the works commencement and what they can expect, so I thought I would first contact you to discuss this.

Very odd communication? Poorly written with no further information, apart from MP(s) visiting the site.
When are they planning to start work, for instance.
