Cllr Anthony Fairclough, Cllr Simon McGrath and Cllr Paul Kohler MP: Working hard for Wimbledon, Raynes Park & Wimbledon Chase. Learn more
by Wimbledon Town & Dundonald Lib Dems on 7 August, 2012
You’ve probably seen in the news that the NHS in South West London are carrying out a review of health services called Better Service Better Value (BSBV). The Review was established by the local NHS and is led by doctors, patient representatives and NHS officials. Its recommendations are not made by MPs or councillors.
The initial recommendation of the BSBV Review is that the number of Accident & Emergency and Maternity units in the area should be reduced from four to three, cutting these services from St Helier Hospital.
Across Sutton and Merton, councillors from all parties, have backed the campaign to save these facilities at St Helier Hospital. In addition, local MPs have spoken out against the changes. You can find out more about the campaign by Sutton’s Lib Dem MPs, Paul Burstow and Tom Brake here: www.saveoursthelier.co.uk
You can find lots of information on the BSBV website.
