Two bits of good news on public transport recently highlighted by the Messy Train Land Blogger.
Network Rail will take some action on long-running complaints about the state of some local railway land, and it looks like campaigners against changes to train services on the ‘Wimbledon Loop’ are a step closer to victory.
At a meeting on 26 November, the Minister of State for Transport told councillors and MPs that he had told the Department for Transport to review the proposal to cut the line at Blackfriars and report back to him early in 2013 (see the full story here). Earlier in the year, hundreds of people backed our petition against Network Rail’s plan to terminate South London’s Thameslink trains at Blackfriars Station as part of a new rail franchise agreement.
