Sadly, Merton Council voted to approve the Planning Application for the Rainbow Estate development last night,despite repeated calls from a wide section of the local community that the proposal was seriously flawed and is not a good design (you can see our criticisms of the proposals here). It will lead to an isolated development with poor outside access and even more congestion and pollution adjacent to the south side of Raynes Park Station.

Our local elected representatives were yet again not able to mount sufficient opposition to a proposal that is not in the interests of the local community.

Dundonald LibDems are now considering the next steps to campaign for the consequential improvements that are now even more needed in the area around Raynes Park Station.
