Raynes Park Skew Arch – new parklet!

by Wimbledon Town & Dundonald Lib Dems on 23 September, 2021

Local Lib Dem campaigner for Raynes Park Chessie Flack met Matthew Willis on the site of Meristem Design’s new “parklet” (a public seating area) by the Skew Arch on the day they completed their works. Matthew was in touch with the Council about the design suggesting layout changes before construction, and has had it confirmed that Meristem will water the plants for the first year of the plants getting established.

Raynes Park resident Matthew Willis has also worked with the Raynes Park Association, and with funding from Network Rail, to project manage a mural for the Raynes Park Skew Arch. Over two days and with the help of the local community, both walls in the tunnel have been prepared and painted for later mural works. Graffiti will be covered over as soon as it appears so do get in touch by reply email if you see any new tags and he will bring the paint down.

The Joe Rashbrook and Alessandra Tortone mural will be started on October 11 and should be finished in just over a week with anti-graffiti paint being the final step – Please note there will be a narrowing of the Skew Arch cycle path whilst these works take place, but here is a sneak peek of the design!
