On Friday, the Council alerted us to a request by the developers of the hotel at the end of Graham Road, to extend the road closure to complete the works. Their reasons were described as:

“Due to a number of issues including the shortage of HGV drivers, material shortages and Covid 19, the construction and planned completion of the Travelodge has been delayed. The requirement to close the road until the 14^th March 2022 was originally accepted by Merton’s Network Coordination Team back in 2019 to allow for safe working practices to be introduced while deliveries and crane operations take place.”

The existing road closure was due to be lifted by the 14 March 2022 however, due to delays, Barnes Construction have requested the closure remains in place until the 31 July 2022.
